Quaran-times
Just curious, how did you just read that? The title of the post? QUARAN-TIMES
This one is inspired by the interesting times we are finding ourselves in right now.The times of the quarantine, the quaran-times.
All of us have been thrust into this season and it has left us feeling all sorts of emotions;worry,fear,panic,anxiety,resignation...name it. Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3;1 says to everything there is a season ,and a time to every purpose under the heaven. lets just camp here a little bit.I believe what we are experiencing right now is a season like every other season that comes into our lives;seasons of work, seasons of child rearing, seasons of singlehood, seasons of rest, seasons of growth and many others.
The other day when the government issued a directive to all the institutions to be closed, I found myself having now to adjust to being at home when I was used to a very busy fast paced life and like many of us now having lots of time on my hands.Although this season will mean different things for different people. For the medics ,stewardship over their career/calling will be put to test and they will have to account to what they did using their knowledge at this moment in time.
Truth is,we will all have to account for how we spent each moment of our lives. So I imagine what that day will be like, when I will be giving an account of my life to my father and I will have to account to what I did this in this season. I am a steward and the Lord has entrusted me with so much ,and my biggest worry is finding out I didn't really do much with what God entrusted to me.How to best illustrate this is the parable of the talents(Matthew 25;14-30).Verse 29 says For to everyone who has [and values his blessings and gifts from God, and has used them wisely], more will be given, and [he will be richly supplied so that] he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have [because he has ignored or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God], even what he does have will be taken away.
Back to me giving my life account to God ,I believe for this season I will have to account for the stewardship of my time and to be honest up to now from when the corona pandemic started in Kenya and I did not have to work anymore, I have nothing to show for how I have spent my time. I do not know if my father will tell me well done good and faithful servant (Matthew 25;23).I hope you will have a decent testimony for this.If not,all is certainly not lost and you can redeem yourself.Evaluate how this season is like for you and what specific assignment God has for you in this season.
Is it intentional parenting? Is it a season to firm up your faith and increase your intercession? It could even be a season of growth in your career.Although for some of us our businesses may not be thriving this time and we will have to go back to the drawing board, others will make a killing during this time .Nevertheless,it's a call for us to be cognizant of what specific assignment God has laid out for us in this season. For some of us it could even be stewardship over our resources, that God is calling you to start a charity organisation to help up with the needy families right now that cannot manage to stock on household essentials. It really doesn't have to be big,it could be sharing some of your household supplies with your neighbor who lost his/her job and is struggling getting by.There's something for all of us to do.
So today I choose to stand by His word(Romans 8;28-30) that every little detail of my life is fitting into God's plan of bringing good into my life, even this corona situation,God is turning it around for our good. What the enemy meant to destroy, steal and kill us will actually build us and strengthen us,it will bring abundance and more life to us.
I leave us with this...Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.

So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose. For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him. Having determined our destiny ahead of time, he called us to himself and transferred his perfect righteousness to everyone he called. And those who possess his perfect righteousness he co-glorified with his Son! For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give.

DeleteI am so humbled by your insights, it takes a step of faith to voice your opinions in respect to sonship to Jehovah. Just a while ago, I got pissed posted on my watsapp status :it sickens to see how religion is prevailing over faith and that is why non believers are mocking God. We speak doom instaead of love and encouragement. May God help us all
